Organizations Host a Conference on Mental Health and Overdose Crisis
Non-profits, Faith communities, mental health organizations, and recovery coalitions are collaborating to encourage important dialogue about diversity when dealing with overdose, substance use disorder, and spiritual and mental wellness.
Galveston Island, TX - The Belly of the Whale Mental Health Conference will be at the Moody Methodist Church on Galveston Island. This event is a collaboration between the Spiritual Care Network, ADA Women’s Center, and Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) with other local nonprofit organizations. Spiritual Care Network is "Widening the Bridge," the annual event is open to the community, mental health professionals, faith leaders, and sober living organizations.
Expert speakers will cover topics on mental wellness, opiate use disorder, overdose prevention with Narcan, and how to find the appropriate help for other compulsive behavioral patterns.
